A PDO (polydioxanone) thread lift is a non-surgical treatment that tightens and lifts loose, sagging skin. It involves introducing specialized threads into the deeper layers of skin to instantly lift the tissue. The threads dissolve on their own over time. But while they’re in the skin, they provide an immediate lift. They also stimulate the body to produce more collagen over time. The procedure used to be surgical, but it is now performed in a non-invasive way.
You can receive subtle, natural-looking results with PDO threads Farmington, UT, treatments. Lotti Aesthetics and Wellness is a leading provider of this noninvasive, fast-acting procedure.

Farmington PDO thread lifts are popular because they help lift sagging skin without painful and invasive surgery. Many of our patients are people who want to look younger without undertaking the risks or costs of a standard facelift. It typically takes between 30 minutes and an hour to perform this treatment. Unlike some minimally invasive procedures, a PDO thread lift delivers instantly visible results. You should be able to see a modest lift immediately after treatment. However, it takes up to five weeks to see the full procedural results.
Here are a few of the top benefits associated with a thread lift:
Before and after images of patients who have received PDO threads in Farmington show notable results. Many patients exhibit tighter-looking skin with less noticeable sagging areas after treatment. You could also experience a favorable outcome with treatment. However, it is important to note that individual results may vary.*

PDO threads are made from suture-like material. This material used to be permanent in earlier versions of thread lifts. However, modern versions are less invasive, and the material is now designed to dissolve over time. The thread dissolution process usually takes around six months. As the threads dissolve, they leave new collagen formation trails behind. These help lead to a long-lasting lifting effect.
There are many different types of PDO threads. They include barbed and non-barbed options. There are also braided, uni-directional threads and bi-directional options. PDO threads also come in a variety of lengths and thicknesses. All of these differentiating factors can change the tensile strength, quality, and effectiveness of your treatment. We will recommend the right thread type for you based on your skin-lifting goals.
If we determine you’re a good candidate for a PDO thread lift, we’ll help you schedule an appointment. When you arrive, we’ll lead you back to your treatment room and help you get comfortable. Then, we’ll make temporary marks on your face where we’ll insert the threads. We’ll apply a topical numbing cream and inject a local anesthetic into the treatment site. This will help ensure your comfort during the procedure. You’ll be awake and aware throughout the entire process.
Once your skin is sufficiently numb, we’ll insert a very thin, long needle with a PDO thread attached to it into your skin. This needle passes just under the surface of the skin. We don’t inject it deep into the muscle tissue. We continue to pass the needle through the skin until it reaches the desired attachment destination. Then, we’ll create tension by pulling the thread taut. This part of the process helps to lift and tighten the tissue.
We’ll repeat this process with the rest of the needles and threads. We don’t use the same number of needles or threads on each patient. The amount we select for you depends on the size of your desired treatment area and your unique aesthetic goals. When we’re finished, you’ll be able to safely drive home and resume your regular activities. It’s normal to experience some mild bruising and swelling for up to a week.
To experience the best outcome from your treatment, follow our aftercare instructions carefully. You should avoid massaging or rubbing your skin in the week following your thread lift. If you put pressure on the threads, you can unintentionally move them out of place. This could compromise your results and might even lead to complications.
We also recommend avoiding strenuous workouts for at least a few days after your appointment. You can use Arnica gels to help manage minor bruising and swelling. If you experience moderate puffiness or swelling that lasts longer than a week, let us know. We may recommend that you take oral steroids or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) to bring the swelling down. You may also be able to reduce your swelling by sleeping at a 45-degree angle. No exercise for 2 weeks. Swelling can occur for 2 to 3 weeks.
As always, individual experiences will vary.*
Anyone with mild skin laxity may be a good candidate for a PDO thread lift. You must have decent skin elasticity for the procedure to work optimally. We don’t recommend this treatment for anyone with severely sagging skin.
A thread lift simply lifts and tightens your existing skin. The results are very natural-looking and will not alter your appearance significantly. You will still look like yourself after the procedure.
